Artist Statement: My love of gemstones is long-standing going back to family excursions into the Colorado Mountains to dig for turquoise. Living a childhood in that Colorado landscape also gave me a great appreciation for nature’s color and beauty. My goal is to capture that feeling and share it through my art. Because of this philosophy I have been an active bead-worker since the age of sixteen and am currently striving to push the boundaries of thread and beads while still creating unique, functional pieces that capture the eye.
General Information: Belinda creates her own designs and decrees herself an “old-fashioned weaver” beading without a loom. She works with rocks, crystals, pearls, gemstones and glass in her art and always produces one-of-a-kind pieces of great quality.
Education: Belinda is self-taught.
